Happy Good Friday!
There's a tradition in England of eating these little buns called hot cross buns on Good Friday.
I loved Good Friday just because I could eat hot cross buns! Although I ate them weird because I put ketchup on them. Yeah, I had weird tastes as a kid, and I still do now.
Going to school in England was great, especially going to a Church Of England school, because we'd get all sorts of holidays for the religious days. For Easter we'd get 3 weeks off, and the same for Christmas. We'd also get random weeks off for other religious occasions which I don't remember. All I do remember is that I loved having all the time off, except for Summer where we only got 5 weeks instead of 2 months like here in the US.
I ran track for the first time in a few weeks yesterday. We did 4x1200m and I felt amazingly good considering I haven't been on a track in so long. The first repeat I did slow at 4:33, but then I did the next three in 4:22, 4:20, and then 4:22 again. I zoned out during the workout and ended up playing random music in my head. Who needs an iPod?
I'm running 11-14 tomorrow. Hopefully I'll be able to throw in some nice fast miles unlike last week where I was dying because I inadvertently ran two consecutive hill workouts. Sunday I might try to do some fast stuff. Who knows.
Happy Easter!
