And now for something completely...ah screw it

I love Fridays not just because they are the end to the work week but also because I don't do jack on Fridays. I don't run, lift weights, even breathe heavily. I find it quite refreshing. It is a small respite however since tomorrow I'll be running an 18 miler to which I am really looking forward. I haven't done a good long mileage run in a bit so this weekend run will be fun. No rhyme intended. Sunday will be a relatively short recovery run of 9 miles.

I'll probably be headed up to San Francisco this evening for a friend's birthday celebration. I'm sort of hesitant to go because I'm running early tomorrow morning but I'll just cut out early. Doesn't mean I can't "carbo" load though.

One of the guys I run with is really funny. We had our track or treat dress up thing last night for our TNT participants. He dressed up as a rastafarian and I dressed up as a hippy, which isn't really that far removed from who I am sometimes. Anyway I brought my guitar along and started strumming some Tenacious D, specifically the first few chords from the song "Tribute." We then proceeded to sing the next few verses acapella full voice to a crowd of confused and amused participants. Good times. We also sung "Fuck Her Gently" acapella at a birthday party for another person with whom we run one time.

I had some kickass basil tomato soup last night.

I need a pasta fix bad.

I need a new pair of nice jeans. Every pair of pants or jeans I own is too loose for me. I'm always so hesitant to buy new clothes for fear that I might lose more weight and then have to repeat the process again. This isn't an unfounded fear either because of the weight I've lost over the last few years. I've lost close to a 100 now and I'm still losing, so every once in a while I have to go through my closet and pick out which clothes don't fit me anymore. This basically leaves me with an empty closet, but Goodwill is always nicely stocked though.

Happy Friday!

Wow, 100 pounds! When I quit my public accounting job in 2002, I went on to lose 35 pounds. Three years later I'm still trying to lose the last 10-15 pounds to be at my ideal weight. It was quite an accomplishment to start wearing clothes that actually fit me.

Tenacious D, yeah!
