Outnumbered
Well I ran the half for the Nike Women's Marathon and did pretty well. I ran in a time of 1:38:33, placed 59th overall out of 7854 runners, 12th out of 511 men, and 2nd out of 83 in my age group. I'm pretty happy with that. I also got a Tiffany necklace. Yeah I'm so excited about that.
Hi,
I came across your blog via Technorati. Great layout and content. I was looking for other folks who ran the marathon. I ran the full marathon with Team in Training and finished in 4:21, not nearly as fast as you.
I scrolled back to your post about the Alaska Marathon. I had a similar crying jag at the end of both my marathons. Yesterday it happened much later after I had crossed the finish line, about an hour after while I was cheering people as they finished. In LA I started sobbing right after crossing the finish line.
Anyway, congratulations and best of luck on your next marathon.

Thanks and congrats to you, too!
Manly sobbing is hot. :) And very necessary after marathons.
Chicago is nice and flat - you'll probably qualify for Boston if you do it. Best of luck!

I was distracted by all the ladies. When I passed by one woman, she looked over at me and said "hey, you're not a chick!" Good times.
